WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog, which you can read in its entirety at JrsBarBQ.com. Here are some highlights of what Jim Ross said about:
CM Punk vs. John Cena: “The issue that started tonight between John Cena and C.M. Punk has my curiosity. I think that these two will have some stellar bou”ts when they finally wrestle. Punk is very hungry to re-establish himself as a dominate, singles performer. Punk and Cena can also carry the verbal load of this main event level issue.”
John Morrison: “The evolution of John Morrison continues. As many have pointed out over time and of which I agree, John has some young HBK tendencies/mannerisms but his biggest step, in this fan’s eye, is recently demonstrating more physical toughness in the ring. It reminds of when HBK added another layer to his body of work many years ago on PPV against Mick Foley aka Mankind in what was essentially a physical war. Some ‘experts’ on Twitter feel that Morrison’s verbal skills are an issue but I don’t.”
Booker T: “It seemed to me that Booker T was in excellent shape when we spoke on Sunday afternoon in Houston. That statement will likely fuel ample speculation and I’m not saying that Booker wants to or ever will step back in the ring but, as always, one never says never in this biz. With two beautiful twin children just coming into this world, I don’t ever see Booker T going back on the road full time. Nonetheless it was great seeing him and his lovely wife Sharmell. Ol Book did quite well in the wife department, much like yours truly, as he ‘out punted his coverage.’”

– World Wrestling Entertainment attorney Jerry McDevitt wrote a strongly worded letter to wrestling blogger Irv Muchnick regarding statements he made to the Pittsburgh City Paper criticizing the WWE Wellness Policy. To read the letter, click here.
McDevitt seemingly relayed information to Muchnick as a way of seeking legal recourse down the line should he make statements that are false regarding WWE.

– Jim Ross indicated on his official website today that he will be on hand for tomorrow night’s WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs pay-per-view in Houston, Texas.
– WWE Talent Relations head John Laurinaitis was told this past week that a lot of wrestlers are working hurt and if they aren’t given time off, more serious injuries will incur.

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog, which you can read in its entirety at JRsBarBQ.com. Here are some highlights of what JR wrote about:
CM Punk Joining The RAW Announcing Team
“Yes…I do feel that CM Punk has the potential to become an entertaining and informative color analyst on WWE TV. The key is going to be for Punk to put in the same amount of effort into becoming a skilled broadcaster that he did in becoming a wrestler. We saw Punk evolve from beginner to Indy star to World Champion in WWE. It is arguably easier for a beginning broadcaster to become proficient in a two man booth as opposed to a three man booth but it can be done.”
Brock Lesnar’s UFC Status & Next Fight
“Read on Yahoo Sports where UFC President Dana White and former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar haven’t spoken since Brock’s last fight. Not sure what to read into that except it is somewhat unusual for the head honcho and one of his company’s biggest attractions to not be communicating directly. Knowing Brock, he’s probably in the woods in some isolated place hunting deer or some other big game.”
“Both Lesnar and White are unique individuals with strong personalties but I would think that they will be speaking sooner than later about Brock’s long term future and next opponent … To me Brock Lesnar’s next opponent is a no brainer. It should be Frank Mir who is as good as they come in verbally selling a PPV fight in UFC. Mir hung Lesnar’s first loss on Brock to which the Minnesotan avenged evening their personal score at 1-1. Why not have the ‘rubber match?’
Monday’s King of the Ring Tournament:
“Yes…I am very anxious to watch Raw this Monday and see how the King of the Ring Tournament goes. Looking at the qualifiers it would seem that several could theoretically win the tourney. Somehow, King Sheamus has a ring to it but so does King Morrison. The bigger question may be who gets the nod, a Raw wrestler or a Smackdown wrestler? I just hope that none of the matches are rushed”

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog, which you can read in its entirety at JRsBarBQ.com. Here are some highlights of what JR said about:
Monday’s Old School RAW: “Even though I felt that I was a little rusty on commentary, I had a super time working with King and being back at ringside. It’s hard to simply walk away from something that’s in one’s DNA and that has been such a prominent part of one’s life for four decades. It had been 13 months since I last called a wrestling bout but after listening to the show after I arrived home on Tuesday it seemed to go o.k. I’ve never called a perfect bout and likely never will be the goal is always be work diligently to be better the next time than one was the last time. Finding or residing in one’s comfort zone is the kiss of death”
Michael Cole’s Character: “Lots of fans have sent me emails and Tweets, @JRsBBQ, regarding Michael Cole’s performance during the Swagger-Bryan bout and be assured that Michael was simply doing his job and embellishing upon his new, antagonist persona. There are no issues here I can assure you. If I helped folks dislike Cole’s new persona then I accomplished one objective it would seem.”
Rowdy Roddy Piper’s Segment On RAW: “Roddy Piper arguably did more in his brief albeit impactful time on Raw to promote the Survivor Series main event of Orton vs. Barrett w/ Cena as the special referee than anyone has done on Raw or elsewhere since the storyline began. Awesome job by Piper who can still be ‘money.’ Roddy looked better than I have seen him in years and has made some important, life style changes that were evident when speaking with him and subsequently watching him perform. In my opinion, Roddy Piper stole the show Monday at Raw. FYI, Roddy’s son Colt is still actively pursuing a career as a MMA fighter of which has my interest. Keep an eye out for Colt Toombs.”

– Numerous wrestlers had a great time last night at Raw, particularly those who grew up around the wrestling industry. Likewise, a number of legends were excited to meet some of the generational wrestlers, particularly Michael McGillicutty (a/k/a Joe Hennig) since his dad was beloved. The show also gave th legends a chance to see the likes of Tamina and Husky Harris, who they observed growing up.
Members of The Nexus reportedly watched “Rowdy” Roddy Piper’s promo intently and the biggest reaction backstage occurred when Mae Young referred to Lay-Cool as “sluts” and “bitches.” Her remarks reportedly made Vince McMahon laugh.
– It is said that most everyone in WWE wants Jim Ross to return to the broadcast booth. However, the final decision lies with Vince McMahon.
– The person who fell down hitting the ring during last night’s pull-apart brawl between John Cena and Randy Orton was WWE Executive Vice President of Talent Relations John Lauranitis.
