Juventud Guerrera PROFILE
Juventud Guerrera profile written by Wayne K. Wilkins

Juventud Guerrera - The man known in the world of professional wrestling as The Juice, one of the most inspirational yet controversial professional wrestlers to ever arrive from the Mexican world of professional Lucha Libre wrestling. Juventud Guerrera is the son of the legendary Mexican performer, Fuerza Guerrera, and is most famous for his work in Mexico with the likes of Rey Misterio Jr, Psicosis and Konnan. Juvi arrived on the scene in the 90's thanks to a contractual deal by Konnan with the American wrestling promotion known as Extreme Championship Wrestling. The ECW was famous for hit's high risk and highly innovative and unique style that gained its high risk innovation from the style of Lucha Libre, meaning it was only a matter of time before the Lucha Libre wrestlers arrived in the USA. Juventud Guerrera was one of the first masked professional Lucha Libre wrestlers to work in the mainstream television world of American professional wrestling. The popularity of the Lucha Libre superstars in the ECW lead to the biggest promotion in the world, which at the time was World Championship Wrestling, stealing the Lucha Libre wrestlers from the ECW and implementing their high risk and highly popular wrestling styles on their flagship shows, Monday Nitro and Thursday Thunder.

Juvi quickly became one of the most popular Mexican professional wrestlers of all time. He became famous for his high-risk and sometimes controversial style of professional wrestling. High-risk because he would do whatever it takes in his matches, whatever he could with whoever he was working with, whether it be Billy Kidman, Rey Misterio Jr, Psicosis and even the heavyweight competitors in the WCW at the time. Controversial because he would often go over his given time limits for his matches with Wrestlers he was working with, would often create his own high-spots when working with his friends which would often create a more impactful and high-risk and highly innovative match, which of course went down bad with the management due to the insanely high risk atmosphere of the bump, high spot and the television time it could take to perform these spots.

Juvi Guerrera created a perfect image of what it meant to be a professional wrestling outlaw. He comes to the ring and owns the ring there and then, he simply wants to create the perfect show, he wants to give the people what they want and when they want it. The majority of professional wrestling fans nowadays enjoy the high risk style of professional wrestling over the classic chain wrestling and ground and pound wrestling of the past, and Juvi is one of the few people in the business who can do this to perfection. Juvi brings to the ring a combination of charisma, style and talent; he works to give the fans what they pay for. Similar to the way that the early Total Nonstop Action Wrestling promotion would do anything high-risk, long matches of perfection, Juventud Guerrera was doing the very same in the ring around the country before TNA was even considered. This is how Juvi is seen however, he is seen as controversial for this very reason, the fact that he wants to get in as many spots, as many moves and as many pops from the crowd as possible TIME LIMITS are not friends of the Juvi Juice to say the least!

Any professional wrestling fan has to respect Juvi for what he has done. The RF shoot interview of Juventud Guerrera is very informative. It covers all of the above as well as the controversial incident during an Australian tour. It also features Juvi talking about his future plans including Wrestlers who he would enjoy working with, including the likes of Matt and Jeff Hardy, Sabu, Ric flair and many more. Juvi had always dreamed of going to the WWF, and as we know, Juvi arrived in the WWE years later. Juvi comments on how the fans perceive him, his thoughts on people in the business such as Kevin Nash and Hulk Hogan, his friendship with Scott Hall, his compliments from Ric Flair and his greatest moments in professional wrestling.

This shoot interview was one I found very entertaining and very informative from start to finish. Everything I described above was discussed in depth during the shoot interview. From his break into the business to his father's thoughts on him losing his mask EVERYTHING is discussed.

I will say that you do NOT know Juventud Guerrera until you have seen this shoot interview presented by RF Video.
