Chris Harris PROFILE |
Chris Harris profile written by
Richard Leigh
Chris Harris is an American professional
wrestler that has most recently been seen
wrestling for the Northern Wrestling Federation
under the name of Wildcat Chris Harris. He was
previously briefly signed to the WWE and
wrestled a couple of times on the ECW brand, but
was released from his contract in August 2008.
A professional wrestler since 1994, Chris
Harris joined WCW in the year 2000, and was
signed to the promotion until the WCW was bought
out by WWE in 2001. Never really making much of
a name for himself in the WCW; Harris moved on
to TNA in 2002, and would remain with the
promotion right up until joining WWE in 2008.
A seven time NWA World Tag Team Champion;
Chris Harris was a huge success with TNA, and
even won the TNA Asylum Alliance Tag Team
Tournament with James Storm during his time with
the promotion. A six time tag-team champion with
James Storm; Harris and Storm had a fantastic
wrestling bond together, and the duo was known
in the promotion as America's Most Wanted.
Chris Harris was a real tag team specialist
during his time with TNA, and it was in this
area that he really shone. His partnership with
James Storm really did work well, and always
they had a lot to offer as America's Most
Wanted. It was a shame when their tag team
partnership finally came to an end in December
2006; it was good while it lasted though, and
Chris Harris really did impress as a tag team
wrestler.
Entering 2007 as a newly single
man, wrestling alone in the promotion; Harris
took part in some pretty impressive matches
throughout the year, including bouts against
Kurt Angle and Christian Cage. He was never able
to establish himself so successfully as a
singles performer as he was a tag teamer; Chris
Harris still did the promotion proud with the
matches that he took part in though, and
continued to show much style and flair in the
TNA promotion.
Harris' last involvement
in TNA action was in a feud with Dustin Rhodes (Goldust).
Harris actually defeated Dustin Rhodes via
disqualification at Hard Justice, and went on to
defeat him again in a no disqualification
match-up at No Surrender. On January 11th 2008
Chris Harris was released from his TNA contract
though, and later that month went on to join the
WWE.
Wrestling in only a handful of
matches with the WWE; Chris Harris really wasn't
a success in the promotion, and hence he is now
involved in the independent circuit. Harris has
talked about quitting wrestling altogether, but
right now remains a professional wrestler, and
there's therefore still hope that he may one day
return to our TV screens.
Chris Harris
has always been a very good wrestler, and was
most certainly hugely impressive as one half of
the tag team America's Most Wanted. It was with
James Storm that he wrestled in some of his
greatest matches, and always Chris Harris will
be remembered for his fantastic wrestling
displays with the TNA promotion. It's a shame it
didn't work out with him with the WWE; I'm sure
he'll be back at some stage though, and how
brilliant it will be to see the return of the
wonderful Chris Harris.
