Originally I was going to mix and match guys and write about possible feuds that would be fun to see. Instead, I am going to complain about the debacle that was the 2009 WWE Draft.
One thing that drives me crazy is when the WWE splits up guys who should not be split. Let’s start with Miz and Morrison. These two, in my opinion, are one of the best things going within the company. They are fun popular heels and compliment each other very well. I personally think that Miz is inline for a big push and Morrison is going to stay where he is. (Just my prediction)
HHH went back to Raw. He put in his SmackDown time guys, give him a break. (BTW, I was watching the E:60 about Wrestlemania and my girlfriend even said, “Of course HHH is in the creative meeting.” It made me laugh)
The other split was Ezekiel Jackson and TBK. Kendrick is really a great wrestler. I think that this split was inevitable, but still too soon. Kendrick and Jackson would have been a good Raw team, unfortunately for Kendrick, he will probably get buried there by himself.
I am happy they kept the Colon’s together. I really had them pegged for splitting up, because I feel the tag titles are treated like dirt. Cryme Time was also moved as a group and I am very happy about that. The tag division needs to grow and become part of the show again.
Jericho moving to SmackDown was a smart move. He will have a ton of faces to feud with. Jeff Hardy could be really good.
ECW got nothing worth getting excited about. Vladimir and Hurricane Helms are the big names going over there. Christian is still there. You have got to feel for that guy.
-side note- ECW should be a good show. Christian, Tyson Kidd, Swagger, Sydal… I mean Bourne, Dreamer, and Helms are all good wrestlers. In my opinion, ECW should have more of an attitude feel to it. It’s not as popular as the other two shows and the ratings are doo doo. Let the stories get more adult oriented and I feel the ratings would grow.
Two more names that need to be discussed are Hornswoggle and Mr. Kennedy. Hornswoggle got moved to Raw. Finlay stayed on ECW. I will bet my home that Hornswoggle is laid off this year.
Now, since most of you do not know me, it is important for you to understand how much faith I have in Mr. Kennedy. This guy can wrestle and he is good on the stick. He should have become champion, but the wellness policy got him. His injuries have been nagging and when he does come back, he needs to be pushed correctly. I see this guy as a main event wrestler, but I think he is going to get stuck in mid-card hell for at least another year. With Orton, HHH, Batista, and Cena all on raw, I think it is safe to say that Kennedy will not be touching the title.
These are obviously just my feelings and predictions. I do think that it is time to push some mid-card guys to main event level and if Batista is really retiring, like he claims, that guy should be making mid-card talent. I feel almost the same with HBK. He has done so much in his career though, that I think it would be nice if he got one more title run.
