  • Chavo Guerrero Jr. is currently the only active professional wrestler to be apart of mainstream and global professional wrestling in the legendary Guerrero family which also consists of Hector Guerrero, Mando Guerrero, his father Chavo Guerrero, his late uncle “Latino Heat” Eddie Guerrero and of course, the patriarch of the Guerrero Family, the late, great Gory Guerrero, the man who made this entire family possible.

Chavo Guerrero Jr. is one of the most uniquely talented professional wrestlers in the world today, although in the past he has been misused due to his size. This was primarily during his time spent in the now defunct World Championship Wrestling in which both Chavo and his uncle Eddie Guerrero were both held back and thrown into pointless, stand-still storylines due to their size, despite their obvious talents and in-ring prowess.

Despite Chavo and Eddie officially being uncle and nephew, they used to say that they were like brothers. There is only a three year age difference between the two men, and both of them trained for professional wrestling at the same young age. Together they knew each other by hand. Born into a wrestling family, it was obvious that Chavo was destined for greatness.

Chavo’s first major success came in the dying days of WCW where he became a cruiserweight champion and had a long-standing and epic feud with Rey Mysterio Jr., a feud that would later carry over as both men made the transition to the World Wrestling federation years later. The feud, Chavo’s most famous, made him a familiar face to the wrestling fans and sealed his fate as a force to be reckoned with in the World Wrestling Entertainment’s cruiserweight division.

Chavo also had a hefty run as WWE tag team champion as “Los Guerrero’s” with his uncle Eddie Guerrero. Their gimmick was that of two con-men who lie, cheat and steal to get by and win matches at whatever cost, despite being fan favorites and babyfaces, this gimmick went amazingly well and became a standpoint for both men in the future, the fans simply adored the entertainment, the humor and the antics of them when they wrestle in the ring! Often “playing possum” and faking injury, distracting the referee, the usual heel antics but portrayed as a babyface! Who would have thought that would ever work? But Chavo and Eddie executed it perfectly.

Currently Chavo Guerrero Jr. is wrestling on the WWE’s ECW brand and is the current ECW World Heavyweight Champion in what was his biggest title win ever after a victory over former champion CM Punk, the two are currently engaging in a hefty, well planned and AMAZINGLY talented feud over the belt in which Chavo is currently the man standing tall.
