Steiner Brothers Wrestling Drawing
After wrestling in every major company and
holding multiple Tag Team titles in most
organizations, the Steiner Brothers no longer
need to prove their talents to the world. It has
been almost 19 years to the date since the
Steiners won their first World Tag Team title in
the National Wrestling Alliance. The company
soon became the WCW and the good ol' boys from
Michigan found themselves aligned with many
present and future legends. They wrestled many
great matches in the three years that they were
employed by WCW, but these "Dudes With
Attitudes" found themselves jumping ship over to
the WWF in late 1992. After winning the WWF Tag
Team titles twice, the Steiners left for a brief
stint in ECW before returning to the WCW, where
they reestablished themselves as a Hall of Fame
caliber tag team. They have been disbanded since
the end of WCW and have briefly united in TNA,
where Scott is a singles wrestler aligned with
the newly formed Main Event Mafia. This group
has potential to be the most powerful collection
of wrestlers since the Horsemen or the NWO, but
wouldn't it be better if both Steiners
represented the group and dominated the Tag
division? Currently, Rick is wrestling in
independent circuit and hasn't wrestled with
Scott since last year. Many Tag Team wrestlers
have had major success as singles competitors,
but will the division ever be glorified like it
once was. Sure, many big name wrestlers team up
for an occasional tag match leading into a
pay-per-view or maybe two singles competitors
have a year as a interesting team, but these
days the business moves too fast for a
consistent and dominant team. They may have been
NWO or part of the Varsity Club, two of the
Magnificent Seven and even the All Americans,
but "The Dog Faced Gremlin" and "Big Poppa Pump"
will always be the Steiner Brothers.
